Shime Babin was faced with an exceptional challenge: designing a small stone house in a pristine natural setting in Kringa, Istria. Investors – married couple, both engineers, from Holland, people who are rational and well organised, who know well what they want. The initially phase of the project consisted of reconstruction and upgrade of the stone house into a home for a two-member family, with two apartments at the ground level, summer kitchen and grill in the courtyard and a swimming pool. Phase two – construction upgrade of a whole little settlement of small stone houses, for the purpose of renting.
The second phase was not completed. What was accomplished in the 1st phase is shown in the photographs before and after reconstruction.
The house is currently for sale given the investors intend to retire from work in the near future and plan something more modest and smaller in size for their own needs.
